How can Kundalini Yoga help in the Aquarian Age?

To best understand how Kundalini Yoga can help with the transition from the Piscean Age to Aquarian Age is to understand the nature of these two ages.


Where the Piscean Age was ruled by machines and autocrats seeking to dominate, the Aquarian Age is governed by technology, information is freely available and easily spread in order for us to work for the good of all. This sounds like a utopian ideal, but with this openness can come a deep sense of loneliness, with freedom to make unlimited choices carries the risk of mental burnout and the constant bombardment of our minds with information causes constant stress and with that depression and a host of other mental ailments. Where the Piscean Age was dominated by physical diseases such as cholera and plagues, today's epidemic in health comes from the mind.

So how can Kundalini Yoga help? For starters the speed at which Kundalini Yoga works makes it ideal for this high paced and fast moving world we now find ourselves in. Hatha Yoga can take 22 years to master and in this age we don’t have 22 years to come back into homeostasis to meet these challenges. Another advantage that Kundalini Yoga has is that it is a yoga of awareness and most importantly a holistic technology. Kundalini Yoga has the ability to change our vibration, develop a deep sense of inner awareness which, alongside the various kriyas, mantras and meditations will help to strengthen your intuition and inner knowing.



By developing these skills we are better able to filter the endless stream of news, information and marketing that we are subjected to in this age, and by being able to filter the information before it gets to our conscious brain we will automatically feel an ease to the burden of consciously filtering and making choices.


Kundalini Yoga deals with more than just the physical aspect of the body, it is a multifaceted approach that incorporates breathwork, movement, mantra and meditation to alter the physical body as well as our subtle energies to better allow our bodies and minds to heal and develop in terms of physical stamina (because physical health is still important in the Aquarian Age) mental endurance and emotional balance.

Through practicing Kundalini Yoga you are able to experience shuniya, a true state of silence where inner peace, wisdom and healing can be found. The Piscean Age was not just an age of autocrats in a political sense but a spiritual one too, we blindly followed gurus who promised to give us the gifts that already lie within us and Kundalini Yoga will show you to your true guru, YOU.


Lastly Yogi Bhajan gave us 5 sutras to take with us into the Aquarian Age, these are more than just statements but help you to better understand the intention and philosophy behind the teachings:

  1. Recognise that the other person is you.

  2. There is a way through every block

  3. When the time is pressing you, start something and the pressure will be off.

  4. Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times.

  5. Vibrate the Cosmos, the Cosmos shall clean the path.
